Directing

As an artist and director, my goal is to bring light to the parts of ourselves that we hide, allowing audiences and performers to realize that we are never truly battling our struggles alone. By pulling focus to moments of quiet, melancholy, and things that are often pushed down, it is my mission to show people that the things we hide don’t have to remain in the shadows. 

I believe in showcasing realistic and truthful moments, however challenging, that retain the inherent humor and absurdism that comes with living life. I work to achieve this through thoughtful consideration of the text, the implications, and the lived experiences of the actors.

In 2026, I graduated from Emerson College with a B.F.A. in Theater and Performance. I’ve worked as a director in multiple formats, including play festivals and scene selections, as well as assistant directing for full scale productions. I’ve studied the art of directing under Calvin Atkinson, and frequently reference books like “The Director’s Craft” by Katie Mitchell and “The Actor and the Target” by Declan Donnellan throughout my practice. I believe in implementing structures and practices in the rehearsal room that lead to trust between the actors, the production team, and the director, in order to maintain connection and allow for vulnerability. 

In addition to my formal training in directing, I also have training in stage combat and fight choreography. I studied hand-to-hand combat and knife fighting techniques under Ted Hewlett during my time at Emerson. I studied single sword combat under Angie Jepson, and received my certification in that discipline.
